Job Summary: 

  • The Resident Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in our community by serving as the primary point of contact for residents at the Dickson Housing Authority Community Center. This position involves coordinating a range of support services, organizing community events, and working collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure that the needs of our residents are met effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resident Support:
    • Serve as the main contact for residents, addressing inquiries, concerns, and needs. Provide information on available resources and services.
  • Program Coordination:
    • Develop, implement, and oversee programs and services that support resident well-being, including educational workshops, social events, and health services.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Foster a sense of community by organizing events and activities that promote resident interaction and engagement.
  • Resource Management:
    • Identify and connect residents with external resources such as social services, healthcare providers, and job training programs.
  • Case Management:
    • Assist residents with specific needs through one-on-one case management, including helping with applications for assistance and follow-up services.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of resident interactions, program participation, and service outcomes. Prepare regular reports for management on program effectiveness and resident needs.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with local agencies, non-profits, and other community organizations to enhance service delivery and address community needs.
  • Crisis Intervention:
    • Provide support and intervention in crisis situations, including liaising with emergency services and coordinating necessary assistance.
  • Outreach and Education:
    • Conduct outreach efforts to inform residents about available services and educational opportunities. Facilitate workshops and information sessions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of experience in social services, community outreach, or a related field. Experience in a housing authority or similar environment is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Sensitivity to diverse populations and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Certifications:
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
    • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Work Environment:
    • The role involves working both indoors in an office setting and outdoors during community events. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
